Currently PCR tests are the most reliable testing method for detecting an acute infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus. PCR is the abbreviation for Polymerase Chain Reaction. In the PCR test, the samples taken are examined in a laboratory for the genetic material (DNA) of the corona virus. Even the lowest degrees of infection can be successfully detected using the highly sensitive PCR tests.

PCR test: the golden standard
In contrast to the rapid antigen test, the PCR tests are not evaluated on site in the test center, but in a laboratory. The PCR samples for the Standard PCR test are picked up twice a day from Schnelltest Berlin and brought to a cooperating laboratory. The transport time, the preparation time in the laboratory and, if necessary, a waiting time due to a high volume of samples as well as the test procedure, which takes several hours, result in the longer processing time of the PCR samples. Usually, the PCR test results are made available online during the same day. The PCR tests meet the international travel regulations. As an option, travelers can request the test result in German or English and have their ID or passport number on the result. We offer you daily PCR laboratory tests in our test center in Mitte.
PCR tests are the most reliable testing method for direct pathogen detection of SARS-CoV-2. Especially when traveling abroad or returning, a PCR test is recommended.
The stay in the test station, including registration and swab, only takes a few minutes. We offer you three different PCR tests, whereby the tests differ only in terms of the time required for evaluation. The ECONOMY PCR test is evaluated within 36 hours, with the STANDARD PCR test you will receive the test result on the same day (in 95% of case) if the swab is taken by 5:00 p.m. For a surcharge, we optionally offer you our EXPRESS PCR test, with which you receive your test result within 3 hours.
PCR tests cost 99,90 € For an additional 10,00 €, we offer ID verification. Express PCR tests with results in a few hours cost 199,90 €. The Economy PCR tests cost only 49,90€ but the results take 36 hours.
We perform PCR tests on children from the age of 3. Parents must accompany their children if they are younger than 14 years of age to perform the COVID-19 test. Unaccompanied children over 14 years of age can be tested with a declaration of consent signed by their parents.
